Dr. Mingshu Wang selected for national DAFNI Fellowship

I am delighted to share that I have been selected as a 2026 DAFNI Fellow by the Data & Analytics Facility for National Infrastructure (DAFNI). DAFNI is a programme within the STFC Scientific Computing Department. STFC, EPSRC and Innovate UK are part of UK Research and Innovation.

The DAFNI Fellowship is a nationally competitive programme focused on infrastructure resilience, interdisciplinary research, and engagement across academia, government and industry. The 2026 cohort includes ten Fellows selected from 116 applicants.

My fellowship project, “GeoAI-enabled workflows for decision-ready infrastructure evidence,” will develop analysis-ready datasets, reproducible models and transparent workflows to support scenario-based analysis of UK infrastructure systems. The work will contribute to the DAFNI platform by making GeoAI and geospatial data science methods more reusable, transparent and decision-ready.

This fellowship builds on my wider research at the intersection of GeoAI, spatial data science and infrastructure systems, with a focus on scalable and interpretable machine learning for geospatial data. I look forward to working with the DAFNI team and wider community to support more open, reproducible and evidence-based infrastructure resilience research.
